# About
gSchem is a schematic editor and is a part of the gEDA software package. Full documentation can be found on the gEDA project webpage: [http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:gaf](http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:gaf)
gSchem supports construction of [hierarchical schematics](gSchemHierarchicalSchematics) also.
For creation of component symbols using gschem, guidelines are [here](Symbol_Creation_In_gSchem).
For customising the color scheme see the thread on gEDA-User titled "gschem default grid style" dated March 25 2013
Sheet Size:
For reasonably sized output on A4 sheets use the A3- or B-sized title blocks in schematics. To fit slightly more content on one page use the A2 title block.
Use of A4 will result in symbols being too large. A0 and A1 will result in unreadably small symbols and text.
